“Our House” Wood Parquet Flooring
“Our House “, released in 1970 by Crosby, Stills, and Nash was inspired by Joni Mitchell’s Laurel Canyon home. Joni Mitchell and Nash Graham lived there and it became the place to be for a star-studded roster of overnighters that include: Natalie Wood, Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson, Mama Cass, Jimi Hendrix, Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, and many more. The wood parquet flooring in the Cathedral’s MPR, which was put in to cover some damages in the original Cathedral flooring, was from Joni’s home. Legend has it, if you stand on those wood parquets, you can hear the song “Our House” being sung ever so quietly (not really, but you never know).
